You may have heard but we finally did it!” Paint it Like New! Inc.” has expanded to our brand new location at 2917 Lakeshore Blvd. W in Etobicoke. We are so fortunate to have had a great welcome to the neighborhood from the community and of course our friends and family! We would love to share some of the before and after photo’s of the renovations and the grand opening celebration!
Here is the shop before Paint it Like New got it’s hands dirty and did all of our own renovations to make this place feel more like us!
Our inspiration came from the industrial feel of our first born “Paint it Like New! Inc.” in Burlington, we love mixing modern, industrial, rustic and mid century modern. We cladded the walls and cash desk with rough stained cedar from” Pacific Cedar” in Freelton. Our shiny white cash desk came from Custom Granite in Stoney Creek. You can get further information for our cedar at www.pacificcedar.com and our quartz stone from www.gogranite.ca
We’re in love with the high gloss white and rough wood to create two completely different tones and textures. For the flooring we chose a mid ash-tone laminate to keep things neutral and easy to clean. On the walls we went with a clean crisp white (which happens to be one of our most popular) SW 7006 Extra White. The cedar was cut into two-three different lengths depending on the space size and then nailed onto the surface with a nail gun in an organized/haphazard pattern. We used this application in our store window, the cash desk and “bulletin board” as well as some other small areas around the shop. This would be a great application for a do-it-yourself headboard or a focal wall in an area that has no architectural detail. We just love it!! The smooth and shiny counter is an amazing counterpoint!!
Next we turned our attention to the ceiling which was in need of some TLC. The popcorn borders needed to be scraped to get a smooth uniform look. The florescent lights were truly an eye sore and were replaced with industrial pendants from IKEA and track lighting.
We have been open since April 10th to the public. We are slowly filling the space with only pieces that we love, from the recycled glass hurricanes to the beverage stakes for drinks in your back yard. We have vintage pieces that we have lovingly refurbished as well as a vintage Coca Cola sign. Come visit us soon!!
