Planning a kitchen makeover? They don’t need to cost a fortune! You’ve heard us say it over and over, but it’s transformations like these that make us so proud of what we help people do in their own homes! It doesn’t take a tonne of money, sometimes just a few key investments can make the most profitable (and stylish) return on your home. Everyone knows the kitchen is where we gather, but in this case, you might never leave!

We met Melissa back in August. She is a blogger, designer and dreamer all rolled into one cute package! Her kitchen, unlike her, was plain. It had a functioning layout, good solid cabinets with a flat profile, and nice black appliances. Basically her kitchen had all the ingredients for an upgrade rather than a full scale reno.

This is what it looked like:

IMG_9414Using a mood board and collecting images that she loved from Pinterest (pssst you can follow us AND the sweet escape on Pinterest @ Melissa / the sweet escape and Paint it Like New! Inc.) she started sourcing the items she would need to make her vision come to life!

The colour she chose for the cabinets was Cooled Blue by Sherwin Williams and Tricorn Black. The hardware, which was absolutely stunning and extremely reasonably priced is shown here:

We also love that she tied in the black appliances by painting the island black for a well thought out cohesive look! This retro-mod kitchen is refreshed and ready for company! Cheers Melissa!
